Koko desu.

Recently I have begun to study Japanese. That is to say, slowly but surely, I have started to teach myself how to read, write, and speak Japanese (Nihongo). I began by studying just the kana (katakana and hiragana). Then I slowly added in one and two stroke radicals (the parts that make up the different kanji). I found out, after about a month, that it is much more beneficial to learn the radicals before jumping in and learning the kanji. Learning radicals first will also make it much easier to figure out what an unknown kanji means.

Before I get too far into this entry, please allow me to apologize if my writing is a bit unorganized today - there seems to be a flu going around school and I believe I may have caught a cold :(  Hopefully you are feeling healthy and well today :)

One of the things I wanted to mention today was the J-Drama I have started to watch. It's called Buzzer Beat! It is totally awesome, and was aired in 2009. The theme song is done by B'z (one of my favorite bands ever!!!!), and the actors and plot are all really great. I am only on episode 6 right now, and although I am excited to watch the remaining episodes, I just don't want it to end!!!! Basically, there is this guy named Naoki who plays basketball on a team called the ARCS. He is going out with one of the cheerleaders who I believe also acts as a kind of manager for the team. Anyways, he asks her if she will marry him if the team goes to the playoffs or finals or whatever. She says yes. Earlier in the show (like episode 1) Naoki loses his phone on the bus and this girl (Riko) finds it. So Naoki has his coach, Kawasaki Tomoya, call it for him. Kawasaki-san arranges to meet with Riko to get the phone back. When they meet they kind of fall for each other. So they start going out. Later Naoki falls for Riko. And perhaps Riko also falls for Naoki. Although there is a lot more that happens, you are just going to have to watch the Drama to see how it all ends. Trust me, this Drama is so great - you won't be able to help but to watch all eleven episodes in the first sitting.

You can watch Buzzer Beat here: Buzzer Beat on DramaCrazy.
This semester in Band Repair class, we are fixing saxophones... meh. Not really much to say. Although I must admit I do enjoy fixing and playing saxophones much more than those brass instruments - no offense to any brass players out there :P

Well... I think I shall go read, grab a cup of tea, and perhaps take a nap while I wait for my roommate to get back so we can finish the last five episodes of Buzzer Beat!

Have a great day!!!! :D
